" I just returned from packing a 91-year-old former Park Service Ranger and his family into the Olympic National Park. I used my well-broken-in Mountain Horse saddle on my Arab, Taz and borrowed Karl L's Mountain Horse Haflinger saddle for my Haffie, Sweet P. Grandpa Jack rode Sweet P. We went 17 miles up the Elwha to the Hayes River Guard Station, which is in one of the pictures. I had sooo much feed and gear to pack, so Taz, being the most fit horse, carried 50 pounds of feed plus my gear and me. I would NOT have done this if it weren't for the perfect fit provided by the Mountain Horse saddle. The heavy and awkward load did not make Taz sore ANYWHERE, and it did not slow him down a bit! The Haflinger saddle is the only one that does not slip or roll on Sweet P, I hope I can someday afford to have my own! I like the dropped rigging and the D's on the pommel. It was a lot of work, but the trip was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Happy trails!" Susan

I'm sending a few ride photos - can't tell you what a blast I'm having!!! No "idle" photos of us, boy!! Only action photos of a REAL USING saddle! First - how terribly EXCITING that my DREAM saddle will be in a magazine!! REALLY?! HOW EXCITING!! I am so PROUD that this is my saddle!! Next - I have to apologize for not getting some riding photos to you earlier - but I've been so busy riding in it, I can't tear myself away from riding to log on to the computer!!! WOOHOO this has been fun! I've been on two campouts, four SERIOUS trail rides, and multiple other local rides both on the beaches and in the Redwoods... we have literally been over-hill-and-dale, and after 3 months, I'm ready to order another one!!! Skylar has been so awesome under this new tree - he is a different horse on the downhills! In fact - just for giggles I used my old equitation Circle Y show saddle a few weeks ago - and IMMEDIATELY he changed attitude. As soon as we tried a downhill, he 4-foot-planted STOPPED and wouldn't move on without quite a bit of urging and he crabbed the whole way both physically and mentally!. WHAT A GIGANTIC DIFFERENCE! And talk about "black and white" in his communication of his displeasure! So the Circle Y is now obsolete!! Hope I can ride with you someday! I love you guys!!! (so does Skylar!) "Got my saddle today! Wow! I just love it. Thank you so much for everything! You guys are the best!" Rosie, Colorado "I finally got to ride with Cricket using our new saddle that you made! It was wonderful! It was very comfy and didn't bother my knees. Cricket was also not "grouchy" and has not been sore today (she also got a great rub-down with Absorbine...so that may have helped, but she didn't act like she did before with other saddles). She walked at a slower pace than she had before (with the old saddle) and was content to do what I asked her to do. We rode for about an hour yesterday, mostly in the shade because of the temps. The saddle was great!!! When the day comes for Cricket to retire and I need another trail companion, I know where to have our saddle made!!! "I am absolutely THRILLED with the saddle!! It is gorgeous and it fits Penny like they made it on her back. I am amazed! I rode her in it today and my rear end is so happy...it is very, very comfortable.The shortened fenders were perfect. I want to thank you so much for your patience while getting my saddle. I cannot begin to express my gratitude and praise the saddle enough. It took a little while for the weather to cooperate, but I have finally put over 100 miles on the saddle and I am beyond satisfied. Neither me nor Gordon, the hard to fit mustang, were ever sore or fatigued. The quality is impressive and the custom, made to order adjustments are perfect. Again, thank you and hopefully you will be hearing from many of the people that have ridden my boy and commented on how comfortable the saddle is. We rec'd the saddle as scheduled, with not one dent in the box. The saddle was packed so well. Of course, I must say, the saddle is beautiful with very high quality workmanship. How nice to custom build your own saddle! Knowing that the tree has been modified to fit my horse makes it a very special saddle.Yesterday, we put it on Romeo. It fits him and me too! I love the swivel stirrups and all the black accents on the mahogany. I can see where he has room to move his shoulders; so important for a gaited horse. I will not hestitate to recommend Montana Mountain saddles to anyone! Best regards, Cathy

I have had a week to play with the new saddle. The fit is great. The first day I rode him in it I noticed a huge difference in how he moved. He jumped into the lope must more smoothly. Thank you so much for all your help. Your customer service is outstanding. Jay S. The saddle arrived yesterday (Wednesday). It is really gorgeous. I am glad I did a few "extras" on it because it gives it such a nice appearance. I saddled my horse but didn't have enough time to do much riding. I can tell I have a couple of adjustments to make with my old pad and my cinch, but I can't wait to ride and get the squeaks out. I appreciate how well the saddle was packed, not a mark on it. Hi Melissa, just wanted to let you know I got my saddle today and am very pleased with it. I started oiling the fenders like your instructions said and ran a rod thru the stirrups to shap them. Planning on using it for our first trail ride of the spring next weekend in the Big Snowy Mountains.
