Store Policies
Accepted Methods of Payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and PayPal. We can process American Express cards as well on phoned in orders.
Shipping Time. The time needed to ship merchandise will vary depending on the item's availability, shipment's location and the particular time of year. Customers should expect a 7-10 day delivery time on average.
Shipping Methods. Merchandise will be shipped using USPS Priority, FedEx Ground or UPS Ground Service where possible. In addition, some items may be shipped directly from the manufacturer to customers. Because of the recent changes USPS has made to their charges, on items that require boxes over 12" in length, Mountain Horse may at it's own discretion choose to use UPS Ground.
Knife Laws. Knife laws vary. Please check with your local law enforcement agency for the laws in your area.
Cancellation Policy
Orders can only be cancelled if they have not yet been shipped. To cancel an order please contact us at http://www.montanamountainhorse.com/contact_us/.
Damaged Shipments. Damaged shipments from handling must be claimed with the freight carrier. If any cartons are missing or damaged, be sure to note this on the freight bill. If you notice concealed damage after the driver has left, keep all the packing and call the freight carrier to return and inspect the damage and file a claim. We are not responsible for damage caused by the freight carrier.
Manufacturers Defects. If a product appears to have a manufacturer’s defect, email our Customer Service department for instructions. Do not return products to us without first contacting us to receive instructions. Most items will be returned direct to the manufacturer. If an item is to be returned to us due to manufacturers defect, you must first receive a Return Authorization Number. No packages will be accepted without a Return Authorization Number written clearly on the package. Any defects must be reported within 14 days of receiving the order.
Return Merchandise Policy. Permission for any returned merchandise must be secured from our return department. Any items returned without permission via e'mail will not receive a refund. Return policy varies depending on the product. Some products are nonreturnable, including DVDs, books and videos. We do not accept returns on our custom built saddles. If tack, saddle pads or other products have been used, they are not returnable. Carri-lite Corrals are not returnable, but do have a manufacturer's satisfaction guarantee for 30 days from date of shipment. Other unused products have a 30 day return policy from date of order. You must email the refund request to mtmountainhorse@yahoo.com (with "RETURN" in the subject field), at which time the return authorization number (RA#) with return instructions will be sent to you. No packages will be accepted without a Return Authorization Number written clearly on the package. Products being returned must have a RA# issued before returned. If you received a different product than initially purchased, the item must be returned with the following: · All original contents (product, manuals, instructions, etc.). · Original packaging. · Original invoice or receipt.
Special note: on all items...the items must be in new condition and clean to receive a full refund. Saddle Orders: Custom built saddles require payment in full at the time of ordering. If you have paid a saddle tree deposit(s) that will be applied towards your saddle, but the tree must be received by Mountain Horse Inc. before the saddle will be shipped. Depending on style and tree availability, custom saddles may require four or more weeks to build. You will be notified of the approximate build time for your saddle when you place your order. MOUNTAIN HORSE, INC WILL NO LONGER ALLOW RETURNS ON ANY OF OUR CUSTOM BUILT SADDLES. We strongly advise you to do the saddle tree fitting to ensure you get the best fit for your horse or mule.
Once a return is authorized by our return department you should: - Return the item to the address given to you by our return department.
- Write the Return Authorization Number clearly on the box or package.
- Keep your shipping records for proof of shipment in the event of loss of returned merchandise. Returns shipped via U.S. Postal Service (U.S.P.S.) or with a value of over $100.00 should be insured. We can not be held liable for return merchandise that does not reach our return department.
We can refund shipping costs only if the return is a result of our error. You are responsible for all freight charges on shipments that are refused or returned with no fault on our part. We are not responsible for incidental or consequential damages or losses to defective products, errors in shipping your order, or other errors. The limit of our liability is the replacement cost of any item you purchase from us.
Leather is a natural material...which means it had a former life as a bovine (cow, bull, etc). Cattle get scratches, scrapes, cuts, brands, etc. during their lives. Some have a brindle pattern in their hides. All of these can possibly show up in completed leather goods--it may not be visible in a tanned, dyed hide until it goes through the entire process of becoming a saddle or leather tack item. We avoid using leather if it has obvious marks, but some marks just don't show up until the item is completed. There are many steps in saddle making and tack building and all of our Mountain Horse saddles and leather items are hand made in the USA. Small imperfections are to be expected with handmade wood saddle trees and handcrafted leather saddles and tack. Some steps in building leather goods require wetting the leather to allow it to be formed and this can occasionally cause some wrinkling in the leather. These types of things mentioned above are not things we can control and we will not allow returns or do refunds for small marks, scratches scuffs, wrinkles, etc. that are in our handmade leather products. These add character to the leather products and do not affect durabilty or function. Also, all saddle makers that hand make their saddles face these same issues...and most hand crafted saddles are not perfectly perfect, even when they are priced much, much higher than ours!! Mountain Horse saddles are very nice looking, well made saddles and they are intended to be used for riding on your mules or horses!
